So off we went  in search of the enigmatic and elusive jumbo, or Humboldt, squid,  a real-life leviathan with a bloodthirsty reputation. An aggressive predator that can reach six feet (two meters) long and is equipped with powerful arms and tentacles. The jumbo squid has excellent underwater vision and a razor-sharp beak that easily tears through the flesh of its prey and can sever a finger in one bite. 89 Anglers went out 280 Giant Humboldt squid came in. Fishing In 1200 Feet of water with a giant jig weighing in at 24oz. ,at night , 15 miles out ,off the coast of  San Diego Ca. ,  in the  "Dead of Winter"  was a adventure not soon to be forgotten.
